Do I need a licence to fly a drone on my own land?

A Remote Pilot Licence (RePL) is required when you fly a drone or remotely piloted aircraft (RPA) that weighs more than 25 kg but less than 150 kg over your own land. However, a RePL is not required when you are flying a RPA that weighs more than 2 kg but less than 25 kg over your own land.


Do I need an additional licence to conduct aerial spraying using drones?

Each state laws differ and have their own requirements. It is best to contact your State specific Department of Agriculture to obtain the most up to date information.


I have a manned aircraft licence. Why do I need another licence?

As RPA are are a different category of aircraft, CASA stipulate that a separate licence is required.

Why would I consider aerial drone spraying?

Utilising drones for spraying provides a number of benefits. These include better saturation rates resulting in increased efficiency, precision application, reduced environmental impact and of course cost savings. What's more drones can access farms after heavy rain, allowing chemicals to be applied at any time.


What are the maintenance costs?

Like any Agricultural machinery, Agricultural drones do require maintenance. Costs are minimal compared to traditional spraying methods. Ensuring that the drone is cleaned regularly and replacing items when required, will ensure that you have get the maximum expected life out of your equipment.


How many hectares per hour can DJI Agricultural drones spray?

This is dependent on a number of factors, including spray rate, obstacles and types of terrain. At 40 litres per hectare spraying broad acre, we complete around 10-12 hectares an hour. Once again, this rate differs accordingly.

What is the difference between a Mavic 3 Enterprise and Mavic 3 Consumer?

The Enterprise series of drones are the commercial variant. Commercial drones have additional features such as mapping, thermal and Multispectral capabilities depending on the model. Sometimes commercial drones have further requirements for licensing etc.

I have seen a product cheaper elsewhere, can you price match?

Absolutely. If you have seen an item cheaper elsewhere we will price match.


Can you fix my drone?

Due to the complexity of the drones. We are unable to repair consumer or Enterprise drones. However, we will assist where we can, and provide advice on where to send your drone for repair.

What sort of trailer setup should I have for my DJI Agras drone?

Wide Bay Drones stock drone trailer setups. Setups differ depending on individual requirements. The setup that we sell, has been designed with ease of use and productivity in mind. We have trialled a number of setups, and the final design is one that we have found to be the best.


Do you sell spare parts for DJI Agras Drones?

Yes. We are able to source spare parts for DJI drones, and at a competitive cost. Contrary to what some other brands will advise, there is an abundance of DJI spare parts in Australia.


Do you sell software?

Yes. We are authorised dealers for Pix4D and DJI Terra.

Can I receive a refund on a pre-ordered item?

Generally no, however if the pre-ordered item has been discontinued after payment, then a refund on that specific item will be credited or refunded.


Can I receive a refund if I change my mind?

Unfortunately we are unable to refund for a change of mind.

How long will my Pre-ordered items take?

This is dependant on a number of factors. We will attempt to give a definitive timeframe, however this is subject to change. We will advise if there are any delays.


Is a deposit required for pre-ordered items?

Yes. For any pre-ordered items, at least a 50% deposit is required.

Do I need insurance?

Commercial drones do have a significant outlay, and you do want to protect your investment. We would highly recommend sourcing insurances for all of your equipment.


Do I need specific insurance?

Currently drones are a very niche market and we have found that there are only a limited amount of under writers who will cover you and your equipment. We are more than happy to provide information on who to contact to source professional insurance information.
